About
An unauthorized parody comedy written by Rachel E. Landon, Stoney Brook is a sharp, very funny world-premiere that takes a hard—and hilarious—look at friendship, memory, and what happens when the past refuses to stay buried.
The most iconic babysitting crew of the ’90s is reuniting, but this isn’t the cozy catch-up they might have hoped for. One of their own has died, and as they gather back in the house where it all began, old friendships, buried secrets, and suburban traumas come crashing to the surface. Childhood games resurface. Long-held resentments fester. What begins as a funeral quickly turns into an adult slumber party.
Part throwback, part emotional rollercoaster, Stoney Brook is a no-holds-barred parody of those books—and a deeply relatable comedy about growing up, growing older, and realizing you never fully outgrow the people who knew you then.
Critics are taking notice. TheBurg writes that “Open Stage hits that sweet spot of childhood, then turns it salty,” while BroadwayWorld calls the show “filled with laughs, chaos, heart, and passion.” Hilarious, heartfelt, and just a little unhinged, this is a world premiere you won’t want to miss.
Directed by Karen Ruch, Stoney Brook stars Tara Herweg, Alexis Campbell, Stacy Erdman, Kelsey Irene Markey, Nikki Heckermann, Danielle L. Woods, and J’aime Elizabeth.
They’re not babysitting anymore. But someone still has to clean up the mess.
