About
A powerful story about family, redemption, growth and loss, Sondheim and Lapine’s masterpiece shows us what happens after “happily ever after.” When a Baker and his Wife learn they've been cursed with childlessness by the Witch next door, they embark on a quest for the special objects required to break the spell: a cow as white as milk, a cape as red as blood, hair as yellow as corn and a slipper as pure as gold. What follows is one of musical theatre’s most epic stories, featuring fairy tales’ most familiar faces. With a small cast, one piano and boundless imagination, Open Stage’s witty and wild reinvention is sure to be a magical trip “into the woods, and out of the woods, and home before dark!”
