Ushers serve as Front of House representatives for Open Stage. They greet patrons and assist with scanning tickets, seating guests, distributing programs, and providing extra help to the front of house staff. Ushers are in turn able to watch the performance. As an usher you are expected to:
Arrive at the theatre ONE HOUR before the performance start time.
Stay throughout the duration of the entire show unless approved otherwise.
Dress is all professional blacks.
Assist during intermission by helping patrons and completing tasks assigned by House Manager.
Following the performance, assist with cleaning the theater.
Performances with post-show discussions (indicated on usher schedules) will run later than performances without a post-show discussion. Ushers must be prepared to stay for the duration and help afterwards.
The theatre also needs help backstage, in the office, or at special fundraising events. These opportunities are on an as needed basis.
