Seeking Interns - Summer 2020
Open Stage of Harrisburg is seeking college-age interns for this summer season. Interns have the ability to create a flexible schedule with the staff of Open stage and work in a creative environment surrounded by professional artists. Students can customize their internship based on areas that interest them and Open Stage will work with the student's university or college if credits are earned. Internships run 3-12 weeks beginning May, 2020.
Work with Open Stage of Harrisburg and The Alsedek Theatre School faculty and students, including the class work with the OSHKids Summer Camp in June and Musical Theatre Workshop in July. Help build a day-to-day and long term curriculum for students age 5-18 and participate in all classes.
FRONT OF HOUSE
Work front-of-house as the House Manager for the main stage and Court Street series productions. This position’s responsibilities include: coordinating volunteers, interacting with patrons and leading ushers ushers during productions, monitor the lobby during performances, and manage concessions and merchandise.
Work alongside the administrative team to learn how to build contracts, construct budgets, and manage different areas of office work in a theatrical setting. Tasks include working with Quickbooks, Adobe and Microsoft products, researching grants and aiding in the development of the company.
You will work closely with the technical director in this position, assisting with sets (construction, painting, props, etc.) and with sound and lightning as needed for each production. Additionally, the intern will be included in production meetings. Great for a student interested in learning about all aspects of technical theatre.
