The Diary of Anne Frank

by Frances Goodrich and Albert Hacket

based upon Anne Frank: The Diary of a Young Girl

adapted by Wendy Kesselman

About the Show

Set during one of history's most brutal periods, the Holocaust, the play is based on the actual diary of a young girl who comes of age while hiding from the Nazis in a tiny, overcrowded attic with her family for more than two years. During their confinement, Anne discovers herself as a beautiful, thoughtful, and extraordinary girl. Her story is a constant reminder to us all of the power of the human spirit.

THE DIARY OF ANNE FRANK will be performed at Open Stage.

For Schools & Teachers

This story--Anne’s Story-- is important for us, to you, and to your students. Open Stage would like to bring Anne Frank’s story to you later this school year. We are creating a theatrical performance (tentatively) called THE ANNE FRANK EXPERIENCE that will tour to schools late in the school year, presenting Anne’s story in a new way and exploring an interactive element similar to that of The Holocaust Museum in Washington, D.C.
